Brief Introduction

The Project of Youth of Excellence Scheme of China is a significant measure to cultivate talents with broad

international vision, excellent overall quality, outstanding leadership ability and cross-cultural background

in global governance. SEU’s (Southeast University) English-taught Master’s Program of Public Health in

Global Health has been approved to join this project.

SEU, a national key university administered directly under the Central Government and the Ministry of

Education of China. It is also one of the universities of Project 211 and Program 985. SEU was selected

as one of A-class ‘Double First-classes Initiative’ Universities in 2017. There are 12 disciplines of SEU

selected into the ‘Double First-classes Initiative’. There are also 13 disciplines among ESI world top 1%,

with computer science among the top 1‰ and engineering among the top 1 , ranking 9th and 17th

respectively.

In the year of 2022, over 2000 international students are studying at SEU. Among them nearly 70% are

degree students with over 60% postgraduates.

English-taught Master’s Program of Public Health in Global Health is designed for senior officials in the

health departments of the countries along “One Belt One Road” and the countries in Africa. The program

aims to train high-level public health professionals, improve their ability to deal with serve infectious

diseases, environmental pollution, occupational hazards and so on, and promote health equity and global

health cooperation.

In order to realize the educational objectives of the program, besides our outstanding faculty of school

of public health, SEU will also invite well-known professors from Johns Hopkins, UCLA, South Coast

University, and Yang Ming University in Taiwan, as well as experts and scholars from national health

administration, disease prevention and control centers, food and drug administration, and environmental

protection bureaus to give lectures.

Supported by the faculty from our strong discipline of "Public Health", our program consists of courses,

study tours and lectures. Students will visit local government environmental departments, centers for

disease control and prevention and so on. Students will listen to lectures given by directors from related

departments, experts from home and abroad. Those lectures involve advanced ideas about the future

orientation in the fields of public health. In the program students will also participate in various kinds of

academic exchanges.

Admission and Registration

Application Procedure and Deadlines

1) After receiving the final admission result confirmed by CSC, the university will send the admission

materials to the email address provided in the system (estimated in June).

2) The time for registration is from late August to early September. The exact time will be confirmed on the

admission notice.

3) You can apply for student (X1) visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country on the

strength of the admission notice and JW201 form.

4) Please note that you must register on time with the above materials together with the original diploma,

transcript and TOEFL/IELTS certificate. Otherwise, you will be disqualified from enrollment.

1) Apply on the SEU online application system http://fs.seu.edu.cn/ before Mar. 15, 2026;

2) For students who have passed all the reviews (the application status on the system will be “Final Result

Unreleased”), we will provide the pre-admission letter to recommend you for the CSC scholarship;

3) Apply on the CSC online application system http:// studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login with the Pre-

admission Letter before Mar. 31, 2026. (The agency number is 1563, the program type is A);

一、项目简介

为培养具有广阔国际视野、优秀综合素质、卓越领导能力和跨文化背景的全球治理人才，国家留学基

金委管理委员会实施中国政府来华留学卓越奖学金项目。东南大学的“全球健康公共卫生”全英文硕士项

目获批加入该奖学金项目。

东南大学是中央直管、教育部直属的全国重点大学，也是国家“211 工程”、“985 工程”首批重点

建设高校。2017 年东南大学入选一流大学建设高校 A 类名单，12 个学科入选“双一流”建设学科名单。

东南大学 13 个学科进入 ESI 全球前 1%，其中计算机科学进入 ESI 全球前 1‰，工程学进入 ESI 全球前

1 ，分别位列第 9 位和第 17 位。2022 年东南大学共有 2000 多名国际学生在校学习，其中学历生占国

际学生总人数的近 70%，学历生中研究生占比超过 60%。

东南大学“全球健康公共卫生”全英文硕士项目主要针对“一带一路”沿线国家及非洲国家政府卫生

部门的中高级公职人员，旨在培养公共卫生高层次专业人才，提高处置和应对重大传染病、环境污染、职

业危害等公共卫生问题的能力，推动和促进健康公平及全球化健康合作。

为实现“全球健康公共卫生”全英文硕士项目的培养目标，我校在依托公共卫生学院的优秀师资外，

将邀请来自美国约翰霍普金斯、美国 UCLA、英国南岸大学、台湾阳明大学的知名教授，来自国家卫生行

政部门、各级疾病预防控制中心、食品药品管理、环保局等部门的专家学者前来讲学。

该项目主要依托“公共卫生”这个优势学科，以及公共卫生学院雄厚的师资力量和国内外合作资源，

采用课堂教学、参观考察、专题讲座等多种形式有机结合的培养模式。其中，参观考察将有计划地安排学

员赴地方政府环保部门、疾病控制与预防中心等地，进行调研、考察交流；专题讲座将定期邀请来自相关

部门以及海内外知名高校的专家学者，围绕当前公共卫生的先进理念以及未来的技术方向举办专题讲座和

研讨交流会议，并定期组织学员参与国内的学术交流活动。
